Notebook labs with CloudPe Notebooks

Overview

CloudPe Notebooks gives an institution managed JupyterLab notebooks, without running any servers. Each lab is a private JupyterHub with its own web address, a roster of faculty and students, a compute plan, and personal storage for every member. CloudPe provisions the hub, syncs the roster, starts and stops notebook servers, and shuts idle ones down automatically.

You can run a classroom lab (seat subscription, CSV roster) or use a shared individual hub in a region (pay per active hour from a prepaid wallet). Notebook labs are available only in regions where CloudPe has enabled Notebooks; today that includes IN-WEST3. Plans are CPU only. Sign-up and lab access follow your organisation's country rules (India-only for new sign-ups in the current release).

Before you start

  • Your organisation must be entitled for Notebooks in at least one region. If Create lab is missing, contact support or your reseller.
  • Viewing labs needs the notebooks:read permission (organisation owners always can). Creating a lab and managing its roster needs notebooks:manage.
  • Students are invited to the lab only; they are not members of your organisation.
  • If your organisation restricts API access by IP address, include the CloudPe notebook cluster egress range in that allow-list so students can sign in.
