# Notebook labs billing

## Overview

CloudPe Notebooks bills in INR. Classroom labs use a monthly seat subscription per lab. The individual hub bills active notebook hours and storage GB-hours from the same prepaid wallet. Your dashboard, usage views and invoices show Notebook line items when billing is live for your organisation.

Configured example rates for IN-WEST3 (your dashboard may show different values if prices change):

Always confirm current prices on the lab create flow, usage pages and invoices.

## Before you start

- Classroom lab create requires a billable organisation with enough balance or credit for a new subscription.
- Individual hub requires prepaid wallet balance above zero at sign-in and throughout the session.

## Steps

### Classroom seat subscription

1. When you Create a classroom lab, CloudPe opens a NOTEBOOK_LAB seat subscription for that lab's plan and seat count.
2. The subscription is charged monthly in advance from the organisation prepaid wallet (proportional to seats and plan tier).
3. Storage for each active member is metered at 0.008493 INR per GB-hour on personal volumes (10 GiB included per person on classroom labs).
4. While the subscription is healthy, the lab stays active and members can spawn servers.
5. If the subscription lapses or the organisation cannot pay, the lab moves to a suspended state and spawns are blocked until billing is fixed.

### Individual hourly and storage

1. Each running individual server accrues hourly charges for its size from the wallet you selected at consent.
2. Storage accrues per GB-hour even when the server is stopped.
3. When the wallet reaches zero, CloudPe stops the notebook on the next check.

### Where charges appear

1. Invoices — Notebook-related lines on your organisation invoices.
2. Usage / spend — Notebook usage and unbilled totals in the billing areas of the dashboard (wording may vary by org type).
3. Lab detail — Running sessions may show a Running cost column while servers are active.

### Delete a classroom lab

1. Deleting a lab cancels its seat subscription.
2. CloudPe refunds unused prepaid subscription time on a prorated basis to the wallet when applicable.
3. Member servers, storage and lab access are torn down; roster rows are removed.

Deleting an individual hub lab follows the regional individual hub lifecycle; storage dormancy rules still apply.

## Troubleshooting

- Lab suspended but subscription looks paid — Open a support ticket with lab id and invoice id.
- Unexpected Notebook lines — Match invoice period to active labs and individual sessions in usage.
