# CloudPe Agents

## Overview

CloudPe Agents provides AI agents that complete tasks on behalf of your organisation. Agents evaluate instructions in chat, plan necessary actions, and interact with external systems through tools.

Each person in an organisation receives a dedicated computer shared across all of their agents in that organisation. This computer provides an isolated runtime environment with a terminal, browser, and persistent storage. You can observe execution live through remote screen viewing, take over interactive steps, and resume agent execution when ready.

Manage your agent computer directly on the **Agents** page in the dashboard. You can provision your computer, control power states, and access chat or launch the standalone agents application using **Open agents app**.

## Before you start

Before using CloudPe Agents, ensure:

- Your organisation has the agents feature enabled. If the **Agents** page is missing from navigation, contact CloudPe support.
- Using agents requires the `agents:use` permission in your organisation. Organisation owners hold this permission by default. See [Organisations, projects and access control](/help/orgs-projects-rbac).
- If your account has two-factor authentication, have your authenticator device ready for login handoff.
- Administrative impersonation is not supported with agents; sign in directly with your own user account.
- External tool integrations requiring credentials use API keys. See [API keys management](/help/api-keys-management).

## Steps

### Turn on your agent computer

1. In the CloudPe dashboard, open **Agents** from the sidebar.
2. Under **Your computer**, select **Turn on Agents**.
3. Provisioning sets up your dedicated computer, operating system, and private networking.
4. When ready, the status pill shows active.

### Control your computer

- **Open screen**: While running, select **Open screen** to launch an interactive remote desktop console in a new tab.
- **Turn off**: Select **Turn off** to stop the virtual compute instance while keeping your disk, files, and logins intact. In the **Turn off your computer?** dialog, select **Turn off**.
- **Turn on**: When stopped, select **Turn on** to restart your computer with its disk and state preserved.
- **Reconnect network**: If network connectivity was interrupted, select **Reconnect network**.
- **Delete computer**: To destroy the environment and erase all disk data permanently, select **Delete computer**. In the **Delete your computer?** prompt, select **Delete computer**.

### Chat and manage sessions

1. Use the **Chat** card on the **Agents** page to assign tasks and approve tool requests.
2. Select **Open agents app** to open the standalone web application.
3. If prompted by **Confirm it is you**, submit your code to complete handoff. If interrupted, select **Retry**.
4. In **Agents app sign-in**, select **Sign out of the agents app everywhere**, then select **Sign out** to end all sessions.

## Limits & billing

- Each person has at most one agent computer per organisation. Different organisations maintain completely separate computers and disks.
- Computers run in private service networks isolated from customer virtual machines.
- Stopping your computer releases compute resources while preserving attached storage.
- Deleting your computer destroys both instance and storage permanently.
- Sessions refresh during active use and expire after prolonged inactivity.

## Troubleshooting

| Error message | Cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `You do not have permission to use CloudPe Agents.` | Your user account lacks `agents:use` in this organisation. | Ask an organisation administrator to grant you access. |
| `You have no computer in this organisation. Turn on Agents first.` | An action was requested before creating a computer. | Go to **Agents** and select **Turn on Agents**. |
| `CloudPe Agents is not available while this organisation is suspended.` | The active organisation is suspended. | Review organisation billing or contact support. |
| `CloudPe Agents cannot be used while impersonating a user.` | CMP console impersonation cannot be used for agents. | Sign in directly with your personal user account. |
| `Agents sign-in is switched off.` | Login handoff is temporarily disabled. | Check announcements or try again shortly. |
| `The screen is unavailable right now. Try again shortly.` | The remote console connection failed to connect. | Wait for the instance to settle and select **Open screen**. |

## FAQ

**Can multiple agents share the same computer?**
Yes. All agents created by a user in an organisation share that user dedicated computer, including local files and browser logins.

**What happens when I turn off my computer?**
Selecting **Turn off** stops the compute instance but preserves your storage disk, files, and signed-in sessions until restarted.

**How does deleting differ from turning off?**
Selecting **Delete computer** erases the instance and all disk storage permanently. Use **Turn off** to keep your files.

**Why is an authenticator code required for the agents app?**
When two-factor authentication is enabled, opening the agents app requires verification in the **Confirm it is you** prompt.

**How do I sign out of all active devices?**
Navigate to **Agents app sign-in** and select **Sign out of the agents app everywhere**.
